Meet the Bots
Today has been an interesting day at House of 8stax. My main goal was to deliver a custom sneaker commission, do some some setting up for the FKiT exhibition and work on the graphic novel.
Everything gets done. And, as usual, other things pop up. Inspiration strikes and non of us can help it. One of my comrades walks in with a new robot. Now, we are all excited about the new buddy and assistant. The robot’s presence didn’t stop me from working, but enhanced the day.
Now it has me thinking about productivity with a robot, and the robot in my book. I think having tech that can assist is a game changer. Also my character design. Hmmm. You might be thinking about a humanoid as my personal Mr.Bentley (which would be cool), but that’s the idea, nor the tech. I think those days are coming, but we have more work to do beforehand.
6 pages in 3 days. 1 on day one, 2 yesterday, and 3 today. I was having some issues on style of some of the work, which has not been good for productivity. But 3 days ago, I committed to a process. Now that has lifted a heavy weight and giving freedom and confidence in the techniques chosen. While working on pages yesterday, Curtis Metalf comes by and donates an orginal unopened copy of Ghost in the Shell on DVD. Masamune Shirow was one of the artists I loved and studied as a kid, so this is perfect timing. I’m also keeping other works from some of my favorite artists close by.
